– Art Prints Collection by Sinke & van Tongeren –

This multi-media photo collection is a contemporary vision on the same topic of destruction and the lack of action to prevent it. It is literally a layer of concrete over the image of these rare animal skulls, creating a very beautiful and poignant fade-out effect. On top of that the works are tagged with ear tags used by farmers to mark their cattle. It is this cattle that have taken over millions of acres of the habitats of the wildlife and flora. The Cattle and Concrete collection is made in collaboration with Naturalis. The Dutch National Museum of Natural History. We took our photography set into the scientific part of the museum and had the freedom to select skulls from the world-famous Naturalis collection. With our selection we made a series of compositions of rare, endangered animals.

After printing them on a large scale we poured over a layer of concrete and washed it off after that. This layer gives them a unique atmosphere as if the photos were taken long before the animals were endangered.

All works are tagged, stamped and signed with our names and come in an edition of 10. Some animals in the collection are Shoebill Stork, Polar bear, Gorilla, Spix Macaw and Babirusa.
